Conservation & Fine Art Framing
Conservation framing is a practice of picture framing that requires skill, an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the structure and materiality of artworks, framing materials and how they interact with one another and the environment over time. The processes employed are reversible, pH neutral, they provide the highest UV protection and consider how the artwork will change with environmental conditions over time. Conservation framing places the protection of the artwork as the singular most important consideration in the selection of framing materials and techniques, which is why it is important to be working with a professional framer with the knowledge, experience and know how.
